Curt Yarrington:  (Hitting and Fielding Coach)
 Better known as "Coach Y" to all the kids, Curt played his high school ball in southern California and college ball in Kansas. After playing a couple of years of semi-pro ball, he began his coaching career in L.A. in 1983 as the head varsity coach at Daniel Murphy High School. In 1986, he returned to his alma mater and led them back to the playoffs after a 6-year drought. Coach Y moved to Arkansas in 1996 and began coaching again in Bentonville Babe Ruth and coached an All-Star team to three consecutive state titles, with 4th, 5th and 4th place finishes at the Regionals that followed each of the state tourneys. In 2007, he was the head coach of the 16-year-old Bentonville All-Star team that finished 3rd in the 16-year-old Babe Ruth World Series. Coach Y begins his 9th season this year as an assistant at Bentonville High School.  

   
 

 

   
   
 

 Kevin Swartwood:  (Pitching Coach)
Originally from Southern California, where he played high school and college ball, has been giving pitching lessons at Batter Up of Bentonville for over a year. He attended Downey High School, Long Beach City College, Rio Hondo College, and Cal State Fullerton. Along the way, he has picked up several awards and honors, among them:
High School All Conference and Conference MVP -1990
All CIF State 3rd Team -1990
All Southwest Los Angeles Pitcher - 1990
Rio Hondo College Pitcher of the Year -1991
All Foothill Conference Player -1991
He has studied pitching under 2 former MLB pitchers –
Clyde Wright of the California Angels
Steve Gomez of the Oakland A’s
Kevin concentrates on sound mechanics and fundamentals to ensure each student is not only performing to his capabilities, but also to remain as safe as possible.
